Fed: HREOC says Woomera breaches international conventions
Australia's human rights watchdog says the Woomera detention centre breaches internationalconventions.
The attack came as Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD poured cold water on a UN visit to the facility.
The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission says there is a culture of despairat Woomera with children exposed to high levels of violence and denied education.
